The new year is a great time to bring some life skills into the classroom. Teaching kids how to reflect on the past (the good and the bad) and making goals for the future is a valuable life skill that will help them as they grow into independent adults.

This fun New Year Venn Diagram is a unique way for them to record their thoughts and ideas. In the 2016 portion, they can write major events that shaped their year or behaviors and attitudes that they want to leave in the past. The middle portion can be for writing several things they did well that they want to continue into the new year. The 2017 part is for writing goals and ideas for things they want to do differently in the new year. At the end of the school year, you can even pull these back out and have them assess how they are doing at meeting those goals!
