# Nurturing Number Sense

What is Number Sense? It is an intuitive understanding of numbers and their properties. It includes counting, comparing, estimating, and comprehending mathematical operations. When students have a strong number sense, they can make sense of numbers in real-world contexts and solve problems efficiently, accurately, and creatively.

#### Why is Number Sense Important?

Number sense forms the foundation for all other mathematical skills. It serves as a gateway to higher-level concepts like algebra, geometry, and data analysis. When students have a solid grasp of number sense, they are better equipped to tackle complex mathematical tasks and think critically about numerical relationships.
